Designed for a rennaissance
couple, the emphasis of the design rested on both the exterior and interior
styles desired.
The exterior had to be indigenous
to the area -- therefore we are using copper roofing, and a combination
of old stone work on some exterior walls and stucco on other parts of the
home.
The interior is more contemporary
in thought that there is a very large two story Great Room with a stone
drystacked fireplace, and a floating loft with wood and twisted cable material
as the railing. Contemporay light fixtures, slate tile and granite
finish the look inside the home.
This is a transitional approach
to the design versus a completely modern one. This enables the house
to rest on the landscape more naturally and keep the pastoral sense of
the property alive. |
